Woven in Turkey circa 1880, this Oushak rug comes with great history and culture, speaking volumes about its people and a period of time. It encompasses both a floral design, with an open field.
It has great appeal with old world charm and wool that was dyed naturally with vegetables, plants, roots and flowers. The ground color you see comes from natural madder root.
The borders feature continuous larger motifs. Larger motifs are characteristics of Oushaks that we love. In fact, antique Oushaks are quite a hit, with many designers and decorators who appreciate their color palettes, large scale design and special, ornamental and symbolic medallions.
