9x12 Antique Navy Blue Persian Heriz #2650 / 9x12 navy antique rug

Regular price $0.01

Inspired by the changing hues of the sky, the rugged mountain landscape, and the flora, this beautiful antique Persian Heriz rug is a record of a specific time and place when the female weavers skillfully wove this work of art. A tribal design with movement rarely seen in Heriz rugs, this amazing rug has an edgy feel to it with eye-catching crispy art.

The navy blue ground provides the perfect backdrop to the lovely medallion and top and bottom anchor motifs that are prominently displayed in ice blue, coral, and ivory. Botanical themed motifs surround them adding a wonderful sense of abundance. The main border band continues the botanical design with pops of ivory and ice blue against a rust ground that frames this fantastic rug wonderfully.

Handwoven with wool dyed with organic resources, such as vegetables, plants, and flowers, creating a fabulous color story. Whenever a new batch of dyed wool is used there can be a variation in the intensity of color, which creates this beautiful abrash that can be seen throughout this rug. The abrash effect we love around here! It is a true characteristic of old rugs and the story of how they were woven, while women were using different batches of vegetable dyed wool to create this room size work of art.

This beauty will bestow personality, sophistication, and style to any space it resides in. Extended at a great value for its age, color story, and quality of antique Persian rug that it is. This NW Persian tribal rug is low pile with scattered wear and is in good condition for its 100+ years of age.
