Woven circa 1890 in the province of Kerman, this tightly knotted rug was most likely made on commission and for the royal and elite and the all over design makes it a cinch to style.

It has lived over a full century and still looks and feels as amazing as this valuable palace size work of art that it is. Europe made these rugs popular starting in the late 19th Century. Kermans have soft, graceful style that combines elements of classic Persian court carpets with the colors and designs found in French textiles.

With beauty preserved and some scattered wear, this fine rug offers a sensational midnight blue ground and its amazing wool has sheen...and it is soft to the touch. Each knot is packed dense with fine, vegetable dyed wool. Handwoven rugs do not get any better than this. 

With floral motifs all around, this piece is made to shine and light up your world. It was designed with a field of flowers and diamond shaped vine work that has a lattice like illustration.  In the corner you will see a vase with floral bouquet.

Condition: In great condition with lightly scattered wear. Pile is pretty even throughout and one area, mid belly,  has lowest pile and you can see nice character and wear. Remember, all days are natural and it took many batches of naturally dyed wool to weave this masterpiece, so you will see variation of these beautiful dyes, throughout.
