11 x 12 Antique Camel Hair Serab Rug (#1386ML)

Regular price $0.01

Hand knotted of vegetable dyed wool and natural camel hair that undoubtedly comes from the weaver’s own camel, this late 19th Century Persiam masterpiece has so much love to give. These highly regarded pieces possess distinct characteristics such as the earthy camel hair outer border which are quite specific to these rugs that were woven in a village in Sabalan mountain of NW Persia.
This oatmeal ground Serab is super durable and has an even wool pile throughout with a vivid color story, including gorgeous shades of purple and lavender, as well as green; these natural dyes that are so rarely found in old P E R S I A N S. The skilled tribal weavers who crafted this piece have left us with a beautiful field of geometric art and it is quite rich. In the borders on a midnight blue ground, we find sensational interlocking floral geometric design.
Throughout the rug, you will notice lots of abrash, indicative of all the batches of wool used to weave this amazing rug.
Low pile. In great condition. Hand woven circa 1890 with all natural, vegetable dyed wool and non-dyed camel wool. Please note that this rug will be slightly darker when styled indoor and tone will vary based on lighting.
