12 x 18 Mashhad Rug / Oversize Persian Rug / Worn to Perfection Rug

Regular price $0.01

This is a late 19th Century hand woven Mashhad rug, from the northeastern province of Khorasan in Persia. Sitting on an apricot ground, this antique Mashhad has a very sophisticated and distressed style that has come organically through time, which makes this rug all the more desirable.

Mashhad is a major producer of Persian rugs for hundreds of years and known to have some of the finest wool in their rugs. They possess a somewhat heavy handle to them and particular weave that makes them stand out.

This low pile and every durable rug is very unique because of its size and it is absolutely worn to perfection. The border and design is something to drool over. It is a very durable rug, grand in scale and offers so much character. Low wool pile on cotton foundation and made with all natural dyes.

Hand knotted with vegetable dyed wool, circa 1880.
