6' x 8'5 Tribal Antique Persian Rug #2804

Regular price $3,300.00

This beautiful antique tribal Persian rug was woven by the nomadic Afshar tribe sometime in the early 1900s. Triple poled diamond medallion art takes center stage in warm tones drawing the eye to it, while surrounded by meaningful symbols, such as peacock motifs that each have their own individual style. Peacocks were a revered bird in Persian culture and carry a lot of spiritual meaning for the weaver of this wonderful rug. The tree of life motif is seen throughout the main border band, symbolizing the afterlife or the connection between life here on earth and that of heaven.

Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, one of the diamond medallions is imperfect and points to the uniqueness and one-of-a-kind nature of handmade/woven art, especially on nomadic and old pieces such as this fantastic rug. The wool used is of great quality and makes for a weighted rug with a floppy handle. Overall, this beauty carries with it a lot of mystical energy meant to honor the spiritual life and bring a comforting and soulful presence to any space it calls home.
