7'5 x 10'5 Antique Persian Shiraz #1802 / large vintage Persian rug / 7x10 vintage rug

From the Fars province in the south of Persia, home of the famous Qashqai tribe comes this wonderful, tribal rug from Shiraz. Woven on a wool foundation with a wool pile, this piece features geometric figures scattered across the whole rug.

From circa 1900, these old world rugs have a coarse weave, and from  looking at the fringes, we detect some goat hair was used to produce this amazing and hard wearing rug.

Low pile, worn. Woven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool.
