3 x 9’5 Antique worn Caucasian Runner (#1481)

Regular price $0.01

This antique runner woven in Caucasus mountains definitely commands attention and in the greatest way. It is worn to perfection and will decorate a hallway or kitchen with so much love and history! No young lamb here, this gorgeous gem has 140+ years of life. It is not only one of a kind, it is simply rare and woven with old world wool that lasts forever.

With a character earned solely through time, this old runner features floral geometric elements throughout. The runner is woven with vegetable dyed wool (which means it all comes from natural resources - veggies, plants, flowers to cook the wool with and create dyes). It also sits on a wool foundation (meaning the grid on the loom -the foundation of the rug itself is wool).

This highly decorative antique has various shades of dyes throughout, which is termed "abrash". These are different batches of the natural dyes that were used while on the loom, which all the more lends to the art and style of this piece.

Low pile. Worn beautifully. Woven in the 1880s.

We recommend a rug pad for this rug to keep its snug and in place when styled. You can order it here:
