3'4 x 10'2 Antique NW Persian Runner #2330

Regular price $2,200.00

Handwoven circa 1920, this is a low pile antique Northwest Persian runner on a camel ground featuring an amazing color story that is super attractive as most antique Persians are so dominant in red and other colors in more abundance. This runner is a wonderful tribal piece, bold with design with what resembles turtle elements in the field.

It's a low pile runner that has beautifully aged and it sits on a wool foundation. Even the raw fringes of wool are sensational to see and feel. If you look closely, you'll also see a few peacock elements woven into the rug, which have the symbolism and meaning of nobility and abundance they say to the tribes who created these heirlooms. On the field near the border, the weaver has a signature in Farsi also woven in, leaving yet another piece of the story for us to cherish. Please see pics for full condition and character (one small part of the runner was restored).

Hand knotted with vegetable dyed wool circa 1920. Low pile with scattered wear.
