3'4 x 11'5 Antique Persian Malayer runner #2572

Regular price $1,850.00

Feast your eyes on this spectacular antique 1920’s Persian Malayer runner with paisley mania! Originating from Persia, the paisley, also known as boteh, motif is used as an all-over pattern in the central field in ivory, beige, lavender, coral, and sapphire blue against a navy blue ground. A scorpion-like motif can be seen in the decorative border with the rust red ground, which symbolizes protection against scorpions in the weaver’s environment.

One of the great things about antique Persian rugs is their uniqueness and this runner does not disappoint. This beauty features an abrash in rust red on one end and in smaller spots throughout making it a one-of-a-kind. Master weavers would use all natural vegetable dyes to achieve gorgeous coloring with variations in colors from batch to batch.

This fantastic runner has a low pile and is in good condition. As with natural character of old rugs, this runner is 3’2 at skinniest width and 3’4 at widest width. Place it in a hallway or walkway to help elevate the space with character.

Handwoven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool.
