This amazing Kurdistan tribal runner was hand knotted by Kurdish weavers, a very small minority in areas that are north of Persia. It travels to us from circa 1880 and locks amazing history.
The wool rug is low pile on a cotton foundation and features a Herati design, aka a water garden design. What you see in the field are actually fish, called Mahi in Farsi. This runner is worn but intact and offers great character to give a space immense charm, with generations to go.
We recommend a rug pad that you can get here to keep this beauty in place. Below is a quick link. We custom cut the rug pads before it ships.
