This antique Kurdish tribal runner was hand knotted by Kurdish weavers, a very small minority in areas that are north of Persia. This beauty boasts a beautiful indigo blue field with natural variation of vegetable dyes throughout. It is whimsical with signs of spontaneous creativity and infinite charm. There are powerful medallions running down the field of the run that were hand knotted, showing off some amazing folk art and spirit.

The abrash (variation of natural dyes) and liberal colors has become the undeniable art that our eyes love to see. It was the nomad's primary means of expression with pattern and color. It truly looks and feels like fantasy in a rug.

This runner was hand knotted circa 1920. It is in amazing condition for its age, with even wool pile. It is a heavy and super durable rug that aims to please with its superior grade wool.
