This is an ivory ground village rug from Malayer, Persia. It features "boteh", which are paisleys within the field. The element is symbolic to the weavers as it represents the seed of life and fertility.
The village's wool is high quality that was dyed naturally with vegetables, plants, roots and flowers. There is nothing ever synthetic of antique rugs like this one.
Malayer is a village in Northwest Iran and is known to have produced really decorative rugs that are great investments for a home which have become wildly popular and with good reason!
