Talk about gorgeousness! This is an 1880's Turkish rug. The natural dyes are incredible in this runner and you will see natural variation of dyes and aging throughout. The woven art work is gorgeous and powerful, with floral art medallions running down the field and a lovely "fence of security" (had symbolic meaning to the weavers) adorning the edge guard border of the rug.
This rug has true charm, great durability and will last for generations to come. It is low pile, with soft wool and is in nice shape for its age.
