This Persian is something we are quite excited about! Look at this beauty! What a generous, little gem. On its phenomenal coral ground, you can see the amazing character of the rug right away with all the shades of its natural dyes. As you gaze more, you notice all of the beautiful motifs and medallions, each with its own style and power. Ahh, and the borders in blue...with all the shades of it adorning the rug we are gifted.

Like many rugs that come from this village circa 1900s, Persian Malayer rugs have a certain aesthetic and appeal with highly decorative woven design. Malayer is a large village located between the major weaving areas of Hamadan and Sarouk, in Persia. Malayer and the surrounding villages produced some of the most ornate village weavings. At the finer levels, each Malayer Oriental carpet is distinct, the weavers having drawn on a large pool of designs, investing much originality in their creation.
