3'5 x 5' Antique Caucasian Rug (#1323) / 3x5 Vintage Rug

This antique vegetable dyed wool rug embodies great style, geometric and bold design. It was hand knotted circa 1880 and it is quite a sophisticated antique rug of the Caucasus region. These rugs are considered rare and many like to collect them, having been produced from expert dyers and weavers. 

It is low pile with lightly scattered wear. In nice shape and condition for its age. The dyes and variations that you see are completely natural, from different batches of vegetable dyed wool that was used by the weaver. It is very telling of how incredible and old this piece is and the amazing tribal art that we have to cherish.
