This is an all over pattern Kurdish rug from the early 1900s. It is on a deep indigo blue backdrop. It is a tribal rug that was hand knotted by Kurdish weavers, a very small minority in areas that are north.
Kurdish rugs are also known to be stout and solid! You can definitely feel the lamb's wool on this fine rug. The age and wear shows its great age with loads of cool character. It is in good condition and ready for a home with tons of life left in it to go.
