4’1 x 6’4 Antique Shiraz Tribal Rug

Regular price $0.01

This is an old village rug, hand knotted by tribal weavers of Shiraz, which happens to be home to the famous Qashqai tribe.

This rug was woven in the 1880s and has a geometric design with triple diamond medallions on its indigo blue field. The borders have serrated leaves and floral art woven in. This rug is deliciously soft and feels like a heavy blanket. It is the old world wool that is high quality and still so amazing after over a century of history.

This is a wool on wool foundation rug, naturally dyed with vegetables, roots and plant resources. This is definitely a hard wearing rug that is durable and displays immense character. It has beautiful wear and one spot (see pic) of wear down to the foundation. We can secure this from the back if you like to keep its integrity or leave it as is, a virgin rug that is time worn.

It would look great on a hard wood floor as well as on stone. The strength in its earthy and natural color ways is soothing and bold at the same time. It is a low pile, but a thick rug with old world wool you can truly feel, and it has a great size for styling. It will bring immediate charm and history to a space in the home or office and is very fairly priced for a great piece of history.
