This is an early 1900s hand knotted rug. It is a heavy duty rug of luxurious wool on wool foundation.
This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of mauve, wine, wheat, azure, and walnut. The mauve hued field features an all-over mina khani design, while framed in a wheat grounded trefoil floral and medallion patterned main border. There is also a pair of carnation meander guard borders, and checked minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends.
It is all natural rug made from vegetable dyed wool.
