Woven in northwest Persia in the 1920s, in the Heriz/Karaja tradition, this small sized tribal piece is a quiet powerhouse. Three stacked geometric medallions anchor a deep rust-red field, the center one drawing the eye with a striking ivory surround. It's like a little beacon in the middle of all the warmth. The midnight navy border frames it well, with contrast and tribal motifs: scattered animals, angular florals, and great graphic storytelling that comes to us from hand and memory, not machine.
Vegetable-dyed wool, low pile, good and durable construction. Don't worry about a thing here, let the dogs and kids play hard, this rug will survive anywhere. Entry way, mud room, you decide. It's durable, grounded, and full of soul.
