This 1920s Persian Malayer is one of those rugs that walks into a room and introduces itself. Spirited. Highly decorative. It exudes a beautiful color ground, coral or watermelon, depending on how you see it, oh and it comes with a whole lot of personality.
The field runs a classic Herati design, that beloved pattern of fish and flowers that the weavers of western Persia perfected over centuries…here rendered with real vitality. Floral forms unfurl across the field in navy, ivory, and soft blue, surrounded by the characteristic diamond-and-leaf lattice. It breathes. It moves. It has life in it. It's flat out DARLING & CHARMING and one that'll be cherished.
The midnight navy border frames it well with contrast and with floral meanders. This little one is stout and sturdy and looking good for its great age and you can style it up in a high traffic zone, it can take it! It's beautiful, old world and will add a good deal of love and pop
Vegetable dyed wool, hand knotted, low pile. Floor ready. The kind of rug that earns its place and then some.
