From the village of Malayer, this superb antique rug possesses articulate and highly skilled hand woven work. These Persian rugs were almost always woven in small sizes and have much originality in their creation.
This gem sits on a navy blue ground within a large central medallion. It features floral art with ivory spandrels and autumn like color ways. Low pile and in very nice condition for its age. The natural dyes employed have gorgeous shades of abrash and you'll see the beauty of it in the up close pics.
Woven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool in the 1920s.
