This is a beautiful, hand woven antique Persian runner from circa 1880 and it comes from one of the holiest cities in the world, Mashhad. It is perfectly worn and has crazy cool wear that is quite dreamy. What's more...the width is skinny, so it can be the perfect fit for those narrow spaces. We know how tough it is to find old runners on the skinny, so if you've found this rug, you've got yourself a little jackpot.
The design woven in the field is known as Herati. It is a water garden design, with hooked fish surrounding flower heads. The wool is vegetable dyed, which is the very best kind. This is a great runner that will exude its age and history.
Over here at Blue Parakeet Rugs, we love to dive into the history of the rugs we source and we also love to extend value and great bargains for beautiful pieces of history to adorn your home or office.
Please grab a rug pad for this piece, so it sits protected and doesn't wiggle. You can order one here at BPR and we'll custom cut it for you and send along with this heirloom. If you'd like that...click here: https://www.shopblueparakeetrugs.com/collections/rug-pads/products/medium-runner-rug-pad
