When it comes to what antique Malayers are known for, this one pretty much has it alläó_brilliant natural dyes, herati motif and medallions. Renewed interest in these rugs has made them excellent investments in recent years, and the Malayer rug market is beginning to heat up.
Malayer is a large village located between the major weaving areas of Hamadan and Sarouk in the Northwest. The area is known for producing some of the most artistic and intricate Oriental rugs.
This Malayer has a lovely central medallion within a larger medallion. It's backdrop is indigo blue. The corner medallions feature madder red, aqua blue and ivory. Other colors include tan, forest green, and sky blue.
This rug is in aged condition and a real bargain buy for a great Persian rug with immense value and history. With the size of 3'3" x 4'7", this rug can be styled anywhere. The bathroom, bedside, entry way, hallway, kitchen or even on the wall!
