Made of vegetable dyed wool and non-dyed camel hair, this radiating Persian runner definitely has our attention. It is from circa 1900, from the northwest of the country and was undoubtedly woven with the wool of weaver’s own camel and sheep.
This runner is low pile and has scattered wear. It features 4 amazing diamond medallions running down the field with terra cotta and earthy tones. You will also notice paisleys, geometric motifs, and the edge guard (border) has the "fence of security", which is symbolic for protection to the weavers. One awesome other thing you will see is that the weaver left her super unique and random marks with small diamond motifs that she wove in the border.
This is such an exceptional piece and will be very hard wearing, perfect for an entry way, hallway, bedroom or kitchen.
