This awesome antique Persian Baluch rug comes from the nomadic Baluchi tribe, who often wove their rugs in a smaller size in order to be easily transportable for travel, used on tents, etc. Also known for this type of simplistic design and the use of earthy tones, this rug combines beautiful hues of orange and navy blue against a neutral wheat ground that conveys a sense of abundance during harvest time. The whimsical candy-striped tiny border adds a playful finish to the overall aesthetic of this fantastic rug.
This beauty was handwoven with wool dyed with natural materials, such as vegetables, plants, and flowers. It has a wool foundation and a low wool pile, which makes for a floppy, good rug. It is preferrable that it not be placed in a high traffic area and will be shipped with a custom cut rug pad on the house to keep it in place. There are some worn areas, so please see pictures for full character and condition.
