Covered with beautiful paisleys also formally known as "boteh", this antique Persian was rug hand knotted 100 years ago in the NW mountains of Iran. It is low pile and in great condition for its age. The paisleys represent "seeds of life" or "fertility" to the female weavers. The ground color of this tribal rug is indigo blue. You can see the natural dyes and the various shades throughout, also known as "abrash". It is a beautiful rug that speaks folk art!
