With a deep toned palette, a floppy handle of amazing old world wool and powerful design is this Khamseh. It is from the 1880s and is from the Southwest of Persia.
Like other nomadic weavings from the mountainous Fars region, it has a saturated intensity with its natural, vegetable dyed wool. Many of these 19th century tribal pieces are noted for the use of high-quality, durable wool in their construction.
Low pile. Wool pile on a wool foundation.
