Rugged Tribal Persian Runner / Antique Persian Bidjar 4’8 x 11’8 Runner #3661

Regular price $3,900.00

This stout and solid, heavy duty antique 1920s Persian runner, was crafted and woven to last. This Bidjar is a stunning example of traditional handwoven artistry and features small scale design in the field and superbly aged natural dyes with timeworn wear and look that is irresistible.

It’s an extra wide antique runner at 4’8 and will be a wonderful piece for a grand hall, entry, kitchen or hallway. The main field showcases a highly decorative Herati pattern, a design also known as Water Garden design. Abrash, the natural color variation that comes from using different batches of dyed wool, is evident in this antique rug that was woven circa 1900.

The border is an absolute delight with an antique ivory ground and continuous floral motifs that complement and frame the amazing navy blue field. This runner exhibits great examples of cool and warm hues, crafted from all-natural, vegetable-dyed wool. The runner's wool is stiff and solid, a characteristic of Bidjar wool which is woven to last throughout generations and it only looks better with age. This piece is perfect for high traffic areas and has artistic value and superb functionality.

Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool.
