This 19th Century beauty travels to us from a Russian village in the Caucasus mountains and they are known as Caucasian rugs. It is low pile, has been woven with wool on a wool foundation and there is a lot of character here with all of its natural dyes. Super tribal and filled with lots of symbolism, from the hands of nomadic women.
