4’10 x 7’3 Antique Kazak (#597) / 5x7 Vintage Rug

Love-worn and with muted tones, this circa 1850-1880 wool rug from the Caucasus shows off its age and character immensely and when styled, it will transform the room, without overpowering it. 

The Kazak comes from special tribal weavers who created powerful, tribal rugs that are distinct. Kazak are the largest of the rugs that come from the slopes of Mt. Sabalan. This is a low pile rug with a sweet, time-softened patina. It features many symbolic, tribal elements that speak of the era it traces back to. We love the edge guard design, also known as "the fence of security".
