This antique Persian rug from the early 1900s brings a lot of pizazz to the floor. Its ivory field is packed with neat rows of small-scale geometric flowers, each one peppered with bold reds, rust, blues, coral and greens. The design stays structured but doesn’t feel stiff, thanks to the organic charm of hand-weaving and age old wear.
That rich main border is lined with the classic rams horn motif, a nod to strength and power. Flanking that are two narrow bands with sweet little floral designs set against a deep ocean blue. Look closely and you’ll spot some abrash, a slight shift in color from different batches of hand dyed wool, which adds movement and life to the pattern.
The wool is naturally dyed using sources like flowers, plants, and vegetables, so the palette feels earthy but still vibrant. It’s got a low pile and some scattered wear, the kind that tells you it’s been around and lived a bit. This piece has a no-fuss confidence that makes it easy to style and fun to appreciate.
