Crafted in the early 20th century, this antique Persian runner is full of personality. A lively chain of linear abstract paisley motifs marches across a coral-ish ground, each row mixing its own color combinations like a parade of tiny flags. The decorative border bands add a playful edge, while the final band switches things up with undyed camel wool. It’s rugged, raw, and a little unexpected.
Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, it’s got that kind of charm that only comes with time. The width shifts a bit here and there (between 3'1" and 3'5"), a reminder that human hands shaped every inch. It has a low pile, areas of scattered wear, and an aged look that gives it loads of character. Probably not the one for heavy stomping grounds, but perfect for a hallway or quiet nook where it can be admired without being overworked.
