This 1920s Persian Heriz…I don’t even know where to start. The colors. It’s the colors with this Heriz, and this one is doing something different. Coral and French blue together with a camel border, that’s not your typical Heriz palette. It’s a departure. It’s unexpected. And it works so, SO WELL.
That central medallion is powerful. Big, bold, and rugged. That’s what a Heriz is about, designed a hundred years ago by someone in the rugged mountains of Northwest Persia who had no idea their work would still be stopping people cold in 2026. Hah.
Edgy tribal art is the only way I can describe the spirit of a great Heriz. There’s nothing polite about it, but it sure is pretty and confident. It will absolutely anchor a room with great art, color, and history.
Condition-wise, this one is washed and floor ready. Scattered wear throughout, consistent with its age and totally in keeping with the character of the piece. One tiny patch, binding is secure, ends are secure with a little wear-in. Durable, sturdy, meant to be lived on. Northwest Persian wool, vegetable dyed. Built to last generations more.
