Circa 1920, this beautiful antique Persian Sarouk rug with soothing color ways is a fabulous example of this sentiment. It has been skillfully woven with a very detailed design and a tight weave. Normally, we don't see a weave as fine as this one, on Sarouk, in general. it gives us yet another window into the artistic minds of the women that wove it. The all-over highly stylized floral art of the field with subtle colors on a dusty rose pink ground is sensational and a delight for the eyes.
The size of this superb Sarouk is quite grand at 11' x 15'9 and this rug is low pile, but very heavy. Trust us, you'll feel the substantial weight of this rug, with its amazing hand woven construction and old world wool. This Persian was given a light compound wash as well, which gives it the more subdued dyes and soothing aura.
Low pile. This beauty is heavy duty and will withstand being placed in a high-traffic area. The size is ideal for covering a lot of ground and can bring immense soul to a space.
