There are some special elements woven into the field of the rug including animals and powerful tribal medallions and motifs. We also see 2 humans side by side which may lend to the fact that this may have been a dowry rug.
This is a heavy runner and you can bet it will feel amazing underfoot. Medium pile, aged natural dyes. A tribal piece that will really add dimension and soul to your space. From circa 1880. Please note, this old runner is not perfectly straight...character of a real and old handmade piece.
