A powerful and love worn Kurdish rug from circa 1880 in a size that can make just about any room pop with some lovely decor once this baby lands in it! Antique Kurdish rugs are also known to be stout and solid! You can definitely feel the lamb's wool on this fine rug.
The age and wear shows its great age with loads of cool character. The abrash (variation of natural dyes) are quite evident in this rug, which we love and appreciate. The rug features motifs and medallions throughout, that are meaningful elements to the weavers. The border design is called "fence of security" and symbolizes the vulnerabilities of life that the tribal weavers wanted to keep safe and protected.
