A beautiful and graceful antique Persian rug! This is a Mahal rug, from a Northwest Persian village and it embodies a classical Persian art and design. The field is deep indigo blue and it features and all over floral design with curling leaves and circular flower heads. Mahals are popular because of their superior craftsmanship, charm and decorative appeal.
This rug is low pile with lovely scattered wear, showing off immense character and beauty. It was been hand knotted with vegetable dyed wool. From Northwest Persia, circa 1920.
