This 1920s Heriz definitely strikes a chord if you love rugs that are timeworn like so. With the classical tribal art that these NW Persians boast, this mountain rug radiates with style and character, with its durable and more coarsely woven wool that will serve until passed down yet again.
The natural dyes you see have mellowed with age. It's sitting on a coral-melon ground with aqua blue, light pistachio, camel, tan, ivory, sky blue, dark indigo blue, madder red, chestnut brown and more.
A few areas have some tiny patches, but it is hard to tell, as it was done professionally and very skillfully. This was to take care of areas that had loss of wool, so this Persian now is fully intact, clean and ready to rock!
