Antique Persian Mat / 1'6 x 3' Baluch Rug #3197

Regular price $585.00

This folkloric tribal and Baluch will add a great deal of charm with its antiquity and style. A small and what can be considered a collectible due to its age and size, this hand knotted beauty comes from the nomads of Baluchi tribe. It has earthy tones and was woven with a  wool pile and foundation circa 1880.

Baluch or Baluchistan is the area between the borders of Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan and with influences from all three regions, these rugs are distinct with character and do stand out from the crowd. They typically were woven in 3x5 or 4x7 scatter size, but this little gem is itty bitty and adorable. It can be used as a tiny mat somewhere that needs some art and soul, or it can be used on a credenza for decor, as a tiny table runner, on the piano, or perhaps the vanity to hold bottles of perfume.

Condition: Low pile, with old world wool that was vegetable dyed. It has a nice n floppy feel.  With scattered wear, congruent to age and history.

We'll send a custom cut rug pad on the house with this oldie.
