This groovy vintage Persian runner from the 1970’s has more of a modern spirit than traditional antique Persian rugs. Although traditional motifs such as the ram’s horns, symbolizing power, heroism, and fertility, can be seen in the intricate central medallion, it’s the color combinations and pattern expression that makes it feel modern.
Abstract animal and bird motifs throughout this awesome rug in rose red, maroon, sky blue, steel gray, and ivory pop against the charcoal gray ground, giving it a playful vibe. There is even a unique switch to a chocolate brown ground in a few areas that is an unexpected little treat.
The sapphire ground in the medallion highlights the vibrant tangerine orange, rose red, and butter yellow in a gorgeous way that captures the eyes. The dainty floral border allows the central field to be the star of the show. This beauty is a heavy wool with an even pile and in good condition.
