This hand knotted antique Spanish rug it is the 2nd in our collection! We were simply drawn to this piece, with the sensational oatmeal ground color and gracious floral geometric art. The wool here is naturally dyed, it is coarsely woven and this old rug feels soft, sort of like a massive blankie. The rug has a wool pile and sits on a wool foundation, so the wool is generous, flexible and the texture is soft. Don't worry, it's super durable and it has been around 100 years, so it is the type of rug that is a forever one. We definitely recommend a rug pad though, to keep it nice n snug. You can order one here at BPR if you like and we'll custom cut it for you.
This is a wonderful old rug with warmth and beautiful floral work. Old, one-of-a-kind rugs like these are known to be woven by women on the loom, from memory. No sketches here! This antique Spanish is in good condition with even wear throughout.
