This is the first TEHRAN rug from Persia we’ve collected and it is truly a floor art masterpiece! The intricate detailing, the beautiful shades of the natural dyes, the color story and fine weave with exceptionally crisp detail is mesmerizing. This gorgeous antique 1920s Persian rug speaks to the mastery with which it was finely woven by extremely skillful weavers that must have taken years to complete. Such a sight to behold.
It is an all over botanical-themed design with linear motifs that have a kaleidoscope effect that highlight the intricacies of the patterns. Cypress tree motifs can be seen throughout which are majestic and prominent in the royal gardens of Persia. They say it is the symbol representing eternity. Cypress trees are very important in Persian art because of their evergreen quality and their use around holy places. The abundance of floral motifs adds to the sense of a luscious garden brimming with life and beauty. The equally ornate borders continue the botanical theme tying everything together perfectly.
