This vintage Oushak woven in Turkey is a velvety and heavy duty rug of about 80 pounds of wool that has tremendous weight with scattered wear. The wool is soft to the touch and has sheen.
Depending on how you orient the rug, you'll have a marginal change in color and tone of this rug. If you're looking at the rug going against the wool nap, it'll be rich and darker. If you rotate it and you're viewing the rug with the nap "sleeping", you'll get a much cooler look. This large, room size rug has great decorative appeal that will be easy to style and the art work has a style that has been passed down from generation to generation of weavers that use the grand scale medallions in the field with spaciousness in design. The wool has higher and lower pile based on age and history. This Oushak has been professionally cleaned and has amazing appeal with its subdued color story and style.
