19th Century Persian Bidjar Rug / 8'1 x 13'5 Rug #4194

Regular price $15,300.00

This mid-19th century Persian Bidjar is not your average “iron rug of Persia.” It’s wild, expressive, and wonderfully off-script. If symmetry is your thing, you’ll probably want to keep walking. But if you’re into rugs that break the rules and show their human side, this one’s got your name on it. The top and bottom medallions don’t match, and that’s the point. The spacing shifts, the rhythm skips a beat, and the whole design feels like it was half-planned, then led by instinct and maybe a little rebellion. No pattern sketches, just dyed wool, intuition, and a lot of personality.

Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, it’s heavy, worn, and still full of so much life. The dyes have aged beautifully, bringing out the deep blues, bold reds, and golden details in a way only time can. It’s a tribal piece that leans into imperfection like a badge of honor. Not perfectly straight, with a taper on one end, but that just adds to its charm. This beauty just slaps different, perfect for an eclectic space in need of an imperfectly soulful presence.
