5x9 Antique Eagle Kazak Rug #4087

Regular price $2,700.00

Woven sometime between 1880 and 1900, this large eagle Kazak rug struts its stuff like it knows it’s special because it is. Most Kazaks don’t come this large, but this one has got presence. Woven with vegetable dyed wool (using plants, flowers, and vegetables), it bursts with pops of turmeric yellow that brighten its warm red ground like little fireworks of joy.

Look closely and you'll find a symphony of symbols like the bold ram’s horns flexing their strength, scorpions for protection (very handy in a land where they skitter underfoot), and looping S-hooks guarding against the evil eye. Four grand medallion-like motifs, each flaunting its own color scheme, anchor the field in confident symmetry.

Around the edge, a delicate border hums with eight-pointed stars, little wishes for happiness and fertility. The pile is low, the wear is scattered, and the aged dyes have softened into that perfect old-soul glow. This beauty hums, sings, and stomps its feet. It’s tribal storytelling underfoot, full of power, full of history, and full of life.

Low pile. Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool.
