This palatial-scale beauty carries the bold, angular geometry that made Heriz rugs the great American heirloom. At 12x20, it commands. It anchors. It makes everything around it better. The main field opens in a deep, saturated crimson, rich as old velvet, with a starburst central medallion at its heart that radiates outward in layers of graphic patterns in navy, rose pink, ivory, navy and teal blue, and more. This rug is a magnificent, healthy, oversize Persian that will not disappoint.
The secondary ground within the ivory spandrels surrounding the large field brings light and breath to the design and a wonderful contrast, truly defining the composition and layout of the art work. Ornate border bands contain the energy within the main field, letting it unfold without overwhelming.
The colors throughout are a true myriad: crimson and burgundy…coral, rose…inky navy, aqua and baby blue, powder pink, maroon, faint yellow…ivory and warm cream…touches of sage, camel, and emerald green, too. All vegetable dyed. All still singing, a century later. It possesses lustrous and luminous wool that is evergreen and healthy. Vibrant colors that wake up our senses. In excellent condition. Heavy.
