This 1920s Persian tribal runner absolutely HUMS with energy and what’s super amazing about it, is that it is SKINNY! At 2’5 x 8’3, it’s an antique runner in a narrow width that simply does not come around.
The field is packed with powerful geometric medallions, angular tribal forms, tiny protective motifs, and symbolic figures woven straight into the wool by the weaver’s hand. Look closely and you’ll spot birdlike forms and peacock style motifs tucked throughout the design…symbols often tied to protection, beauty, spirituality, and daily village life. These rugs were never random decoration. They carried meaning.
The palette is beautiful with calming vegetable dyed wool. It’s low pile with even, scattered wear throughout. It reads with immense character and shows off its age. Ends are secured, the rug is clean, sturdy, and still very durable for everyday use nearly a century later. We'll ship a custom cut rug pad on the house with this and the runner will keep an even better grip. :-)
