A late 19th Century worn runner from the Caucasus Mountains (just north of Persia).
This is a phenomenal example of the beauties that were woven by the Kazak tribe. This rug is distressed through time and was produced entirely from wool, with tribal motifs throughout, which are classical to these rugs, all sacred symbolism to the tribes people.
This runner is floppy, with muddy/earthy colors and it has a rustic vibe. It will withstand traffic, but better for it to be styled in a spot that is on the lower level and with less hustle and bustle. It will absolutely anchor the room with lots of soul, art, and history.
Please note, this old world rug has varying width, 4'5 to 4'8 is the range...character that is completely natural and expected of rugs of this age and the fact that they are handwoven.
