2'10 x 4' Antique 19th Century Master Weaver signed rug #2053ML / 3x4 Vintage Rug

Regular price $575.00

Worn and true, this Persian is a tightly woven piece from the south of the country. Its fine knotting is fabulous and intricate and this wonderful scatter rug has a poem in Farsi in the central medallion. It comes from the region of Kerman, where so many floral designed rugs were woven and are cherished. Marco Polo had a hand in making these particularly sweet rugs all the more popular and Europeans have loved collecting and styling them in their homes.

This late 19th Century treasure can be used as a scatter rug or as wall art. The piece is also signed on the motif under the central medallion, which indicates a master weaver produced this little gem.

This rug is beautifully worn and the natural, vegetable dyes have gracefully aged and are muted. It is a rug that has been naturally distressed through time. Please note that it is very distressed from age and use...old slits have been reinforced. Please see pics for full character and condition.

Will ship with a rug pad on the house to keep it secure.
